Our venues

Three halls in Wimbledon

Based mainly in Wimbledon Village, with St Marks Hall in Wimbledon Town. Beautiful spaces with high ceilings. Parking is like gold dust in Wimbledon, but two of our venues provide free spaces.

Our ethos

More than a dance school

We strive to create a community and family where children feel they can be themselves, and where adults are welcome to move, laugh and keep fit. High-quality training sits alongside kindness, confidence and lifelong friendships.

Founded in 2008 by Katherine Richardson, we now run classes six days a week across three Wimbledon venues, with shows, festivals, camps and workshops woven through the year. Adult dancers are welcome in Wimbledon and Leatherhead.

What parents say

Trusted by Wimbledon families

Every quote below is from a family at the school, published with their name.

Our daughter has adored her 6 years and counting at TVSD. She has developed her ballet skills in such a lovely and supportive way through different weekly classes with this special team and fabulous biennial productions. The environment is extra friendly with a fun give-it-a-go attitude that makes things really approachable. We entirely trust Katherine and Rosanna who hold individuals' best interests to heart.

My daughter started dancing with Miss Katherine aged 4 and fast forward now to aged 17, she is still dancing and is delighted to be taking her RAD Grade 8 ballet this year. She has enjoyed many years of tap and modern too. And the biennial show always a highlight! The Village School of Dance is a fabulous local dance school, with a wonderful sense of community and friends made for life. Come and join the VSD family!

Louise Furber

Parent

My daughter has been attending The Village School of Dance since 2019 when she was in Reception. Back then, she was shy and anxious, but the warm, welcoming, and fun classes helped her build confidence. Fast forward four years, and she performed a solo dance at a festival in front of a packed theatre, a testament to Katherine's exceptional teaching approach. The preparation for Grade exams was fantastic. My daughter loves her ballet class. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
