Welcome to The Village School of Dance. We are dedicated to encouraging a love of dance and nurturing the next generation of dancers.
We are set in the heart of Wimbledon Village offering dance classes for children aged 3 to adults. We are an ever growing family of dancers who are always delighted to welcome new members into our community.
MEETOur School
The Village School of Dance was started in 2008, by our Principal Katherine, and since then has grown to encompass the needs of all the dancers who attend. Our Wimbledon Village school runs regular productions and summer schools, as well as offering a full range of Ballet, Modern, Tap, Acrobatics, Pointe Work and Body Conditioning classes for children and adults, as well as Darcey Bussell’s brilliant high-intensity fitness class (which is also great fun!), DDMIX. More recently, we decided to build a competition team who dance and compete, representing our school in theatres around the South East.
Our children’s Ballet lessons follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and the Modern and Tap classes follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Syllabus. While following these syllabi, our wonderful teachers are dedicated to inspiring our dancers, pushing them to achieve their best and educating them in all aspects of the world of dance, in every lessons.
MEETOur Venues
The school is blessed with so many fantastic spaces for our dancers to leap around in. With beautiful high ceilings and steeped in history, not only do our venues offer an inspiring place to dance, their central locations allow our grown ups to browse the lovely boutique shops that Wimbledon Village, Dorking and Royal Tunbridge Wells have to offer and grab a coffee. Parking is like gold dust in these towns, but two of our venues even provides spaces for free!

2024 – The Year of the Blog!
Back in the depths of the pandemic, I (Miss Chloe) really got into a rhythm of writing blogs for The Village School of Dance and enjoyed it so much. It was a great way of keeping our community connected and to educate our students about what we offer and how the school runs.
How do I create choreography?
How do I create choreography? By Miss Chloe I am not an infamous choreographer, creating pieces for big time dance companies around the world and
